Fasting Particulars

Hey everyone, I just had a question about fasting. Why is fish allowed in some and not in others, and what is the significance, is there a meaning behind this rule?

Oh and is fish allowed in Jonah's Fast?

    No fish in Jonah's fast!!

    And in sunday school they taught me that this is a basic fast. i think!!! or first level. if i am rong plz correct me.

    i believe its whether its a major fast or not.... i too might be wrong but i think if its relvant to our salvation, no fish, if not ... than fish it up.

    also with degrees of fasting there are only two.. one being strict and that means you eat nothing from 12 at night till 6 pm the next day and two is you eat nothing from before till whenever you and your priest discuss my source for that is the book on the rights and spiritual benefits from liturgy by bishop matouse
