First Week :: الاسبوع الأول

I open my mouth in the name of God,
Our Lord Jesus Christ,
Our Savior the reviver of souls,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

As One awaking from sleep,
Very early, the Lord arose,
He saved the world by His Resurrection,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

The women were astonished,
At what the angels of the Lord have said,
Those who announced the joyful news,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

The promises of the Law were fulfilled,
He opened for us the Paradise,
The souls rejoiced by His Resurrection,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

The Son of God came in the flesh,
He died and was buried in a tomb,
He rose and gave life to the reposed,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

He fulfilled the promise and ambitions,
And dispersed all evil and fraud,
And removed the power of death,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

To Him eternal glory is due,
The power of death, He did oppose,
Truly He is risen in truth,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Today David the prophet chants,
With his psaltery, a hymn he composed,
This is the day of the Lord,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

The psalmist spoke in the psalms,
A song of joy and happiness,
The Lord is engulfed in light,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Through His divine authority,
And His love to the humanity,
He has appeared to His disciples,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

The disciples were greatly confused,
As Jesus entered while the doors were closed,
The risen Lord in truth, they saw,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

They saw Him when they were gathered,
He greeted them as they puzzled,
He showed them His hands and pierced side,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

The Giver of peace came to them,
Proving His Resurrection to them,
As they saw the signs of His sufferings,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

The king of peace appeared to them,
Out of His abundance, He granted them,
They rejoiced upon seeing Him,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

He showed them the place of the wounds,
His pierced side and hands,
They were joyous when they beheld Him,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Five clear wounds in His pure flesh,
Christ has endured for our sake,
Therefore we glorify Him saying,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Thomas who was called the twin,
Was not present with the apostles,
He did not see the resurrected Lord,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Thomas did not see with his eyes,
That the Savior has truly arose,
He sought seeing to strengthen his faith,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

After eight full days,
To the Resurrection of the Lord,
When Thomas was with the disciples,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Christ appeared in their midst,
While the doors were tightly closed,
He gave them peace and blessed them,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Christ appeared to Thomas,
To remove doubt and lack of faith,
So he believed when seeing Him,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

He said to Thomas, "Bring your hands,
Put your fingers in My open side,
Behold and strengthen your faith,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Come and behold My Body wounds,
The place of the nails and My speared side,"
Thomas truly proclaimed saying, Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Jesus said, "You have seen,
The place of the nails and My endurance,
For that you have truly believed,"
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

"Blessed are those have believed,
Who did not touch or see Me,
And know and do My teachings,"
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Christ appeared in human form,
To two disciples while on the road,
To Emmaus and spoke about eternal life,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Praise the Lord the just Judge,
With the most beautiful hymns and songs,
For He arose and removed all grief,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

O who has redeemed us by His Resurrection,
And rescued us from captivity,
And opened to us the paradise,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

Keep Your people and strengthen them,
With Your good gifts, engulf them,
In their hardships, be their Savior,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.

By Your strong right hand,
Keep our pope, the pillar of faith,
And all his partners the bishops,
Christ was crucified buried then He arose.
