Rite of the Raising of Incense of Matins :: طقس رفع بخور باكر

The priest prays the Prayer of Thanksgiving and raises incense as usual while the Verses of Cymbals are chanted, which consist of: the first ten verses of the Morning Doxology, the following verses for the Resurrection feast, the verse for Archangel Michael in its order, and the conclusion verses for the Lord’s Feasts (“Esous Pikhrestos Ensaf” and “Eporoo”)

The priest prays the Litany for the Sick but does not proceed around the altar or the church. The rest of the verses of the Morning Doxology are chanted in the tune of the Seven Ways (Tunes) followed by the Conclusion of the Adam Theotokias, “Your mercies O my God.” The priest prays the Litany for the Oblations and does the procession as usual. The Praise of the Angels, the Trisagion and “Our Father...” are said, and the Introduction to the Doxologies and the Doxologies are chanted in the following order:
(1) The Resurrection
(2) The Virgin Saint Mary
(3) Archangel Michael
(4) The Rest of the Saints
(5) The Conclusion Doxology

The verses of the Resurrection glorification (madayeh) for Matins may be chanted followed by the Conclusion of the Watos Theotokias and the Creed. The priest prays “Efnouti nai nan” and the people respond with “Amen Kerie leison” in the long tune. Then the priest prays the Litany of the Gospel

The psalm may be chanted in Coptic with the festive tune

The service is continued as usual and the people chant the concluding canon
