At the mountain near Akhmeem,
There was the holy saint,
From the (lobas askim),

بجبل قرب أخميم،
كان قديسنا العظيم،
من لباس الأسكيم،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
From two holy parents,
Two respected saints,
He lived between two mountains,
Peniout Avva Tomas.
من أبوين تقيين،
قديسين موقرين،
سكن بين جبلين،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
Continuous in prayers,
And the love of our God,
The angel of the Lord came to him,

داوم علي الصلاة،
ومحبه الإله،
وملاك الرب أتاه،

He had a beautiful voice,
And did not cease to learn,
The hymns and spiritual songs,

كان ذا صوت رخيم،
مواظباً على التنغيم،
على الألحان والترانيم،

حدث له أمر كبير،
ثلاثه بلباس منير،

بتسبيح وصلاة،

He was visited by the pride of the saints,

زاره فخر القديسين،
أنبا شنودة الأمين،
رئيس المتوحدين،

St. Thomas gave him,
A sign from heaven,
About the day of departure,

أعطاه أنبا توماس،
علامه بإحساس،
عن يوم لفظ الأنفاس،

A solid hard rock,
For the archimandrite,
Will be split in half,
Peniout Avva Tomas.
حجر ثابت متين،
لرئيس المتوحدين،
ينشق أمامه نصفين،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
The Lord appeared to him,
Strengthened and comforted him,
Promised him the crown of life,
Peniout Avva Tomas.
ظهر له الرب الإله،
طمأنه وقواه،
ووعده بإكليل الحياة،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
The promise was fulfilled,
From the Holy and Mighty one,
The saint departed to heaven,

تم وعد الإله،
القدوس في علاه،
وإنتقل القديس لسماه،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
There were storms and thunders,
The strong stone was broken,
Split in two halves,
Peniout Avva Tomas.
حدث رعود وبروق،
والحجر صار مفلوق،
لنصفين مشقوق،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
St. Shenouda with great grief,
Remembered the promised scene,
The departure of the Star of Shensheef,

أنبا شنودة بأنين،
تذكر الوعد المبين،
بإنتقال كوكب إشمين،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
They buried the great saint,
With his holy brothers,
Three holy saints,
Peniout Avva Tomas.
كفنه رئيس المتوحدين،
مع أخوة مباركين،
ثلاثة من القديسين،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
Beloved Saints,
Servants of the Lord of Lords,
Of which was Akhnokh and Yousab,

قديسون من الأحباب،
خدام رب الأرباب،
منهم أخنوخ ويوساب،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
On the 27th of Bashans,
Four hundred and fifty three,
He joined the heavenly hosts,

في بشنس سبعة وعشرين،
أربعمائة إثنين وخمسين،
إنضم للسمائيين،

He ended his life with success,
Righteousness and holiness,

ونسك وصلاح،
وصار من السواح،

السلام لك يا عظيم،
يا لابس الإسكيم،
يا سراج شِنشيف الكريم،

We loved your life,
The holiness of your asceticism,
Remember us in your prayers,

قد أحببنا حياتك،
وعظم نسكياتك،
أذكرنا في صلاتك،
بنيوت آفا توماس.
Remember O Lord our Pope,
Our bishops and our priests,
Through the prayers of our saint,

أذكر يا رب بطريركنا،
وأسقفنا وكهنتنا،
بصلوات قديسنا،
