I'm aware that the only reason the Church allows for anyone to remarry is in the case of adultery.
However, according to this news report, it appears that there is a situation where a woman's husband left her (out of adultary) yet she was unable to remarry simply because she couldn't prove that her husband had in fact committed adultery.
http://bikyamasr.com/wordpress/?p=22145Is proof required that your spouse has committed adultery in order to re-marry?
Also, can someone explain to me the implications of the latest news on the re-marriage issue?
http://www.almasryalyoum.com/en/news/egyptian-court-upholds-verdict-allowing-divorced-copts-remarryWhat does this mean exactly? Is the state forcing the Church to allow re-marriages for reasons other than adultary? or is it only for reasons of adultery where adultery cannot be "proven" but assumed.
Thanks
