Does God ever answer an unbelievers prayer?

edited December 1969 in Faith Issues
If you dont know and you are going to see a priest soon can you please ask him for me? and maybe you should tell the priest to think about it.

There is one prayer from an unbeliever that It seems to me God would answer ... "God if you exist please help me to believe in You and Your Son"

  • Also do you think its okay if I ask protestant christians who seem like they have a relationship with God to pray for me?

I dont know how they get their sins forgiven if they dont confess in the presence of a priest... but some of them still seem like they have a relationship with God to me and I think I have friendship with some of them.
  • God answers everyone's prayer despite their believes...whoever wants to get closer to him...let him "ask and they shall recieve".

I don't think it's a big deal if u asked a protestant to pray for u...after all they are Christians..
My only concern thou is that u are saying they "seem" to have a close relationship with God...anyone could "seem" that way....u never know the inside of that person and u never will know their thought and their look toward a lot of things..
There is a lot in church who seem to have that to...so why don't u ask them for prayers instead or even ask an abouna...

so don't be decieved with looks...no one is really all that perfect exept God.
  • God looks at the heart, and even though there are unbelievers, they are still the children of God, whom He created, so He wouldnt refuse a prayer that truly came from their heart.

For example St. Moses the black at first used to worship the sun, so he was an unbeliever, but deep down inside he was searching for the true God, and he used to say to to the sun, if you are the true God speak, if not please true God reveal yourself to me (something to that effect), so God did infact listen to his prayers and answered them. The same for many other saints as well such as St. Barbara, who at first used to worship the idols, but she used to think about the idols and say to herself how could these be gods...etc so God sent to her St. Valentianos who taught her about christianity and baptized her. St. Catherine, and St. Irene have simmilar stories....as well.

And also not even just back then, but even nowadays, when St. Mary appeared in Zeitoun, Egypt, she did many miracles, not only to the christians but to the muslims as well, so God does listen to our prayers regardless of whether we are christian or not, but we have to have faith in Him.
