I think I am having a similar problem.. also I might want to do something like watch a saint movie or something instead of read from the bible sometimes..
but it might be better to stick to reading from the bible each day..
Numbers is a great book. I would definately read Fr. Tadros Yacoub Malaty's book alongside it though. He has 1-2 pages on each chapter. It is a very quick read and helps you get to the heart to the Book of Numbers. Also, it helps simplify the tons of names in each census and gives great meditations on many of the names. Also, without this book much of the symbolism would have been lost on me.

which you can read along (?)with the bible.. though I didnt read much from the commentary...
Maybe I did not get much out of the book of numbers because maybe I did not study it well enough and meditate much on some verses?
