Hey everybody,
I was just wondering...
Why aren't there any prayers directed towards the Holy Spirit in our church? All our prayers are directed towards God the Father and God the Son. We are allowed to pray to the Holy Spirit just like we pray to God the Father and God the Son, right? We always mention the Holy Spirit, but never pray to the Holy Spirit. For example, we would say "Please God, send us Your Holy Spirit."
This question is sort of weird...

"O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, Who is everywhere and fills everybody. You are the Treasure of Goodness and Giver of Life, we ask you to graciously come and dwell within us, purify us from iniquity and save our souls."
In any event, by virtue of the inextricable Tri-Unity, and hence the intimate intra-Trinity relations, all Three Persons are addressed through an address to any One of them.
A Prayer to the Father is received through the Son, in the Holy Spirit.
A Prayer to the Son is received by the Father, in the Holy Spirit.
A Prayer to the Holy Spirit is received by the Father through the Son.
I think your explanation above to this question is the best answer for my question concerning the relationship between the 3 persons of the Holy Trinity.
I think the way you explained it above is very helpful to the extent, you migght as well cut and paste it in a Q&A section in tasbeha.org dedicated to Coptic Theology where people can see this response.
Well done.
