Euphemisms ?

Eupehemisms - An inoffensive expression substituted for one considered offensive

example : darn for damn, gosh for God.

why would even damn be sinful? unless I am damning someone. If I say damn it because I cannot overcome something and am mad instead of cursing God is that sinful?

and saying gosh when shocked - is that sinful?

  • I say the former, and many get offended at that- so I have been trying to reduce it. The latter is definitely not a sin- this is not a euphemism- it's substitution. It is a very good way of changing habits, but it's the first step, I guess.
