Hi,
I have a quick question. I am sure many people asked this question before but excuse me for repeating it. If someone is dying and asked for the intercession of St. Mina. If that person lived or died, would it be because of the will of God or the prayers of the Saint? If that person lived, people would say that it was the intercession of the saints. If that person died, we should say that was the will of God.
Recently, I removed all links I have on my PC to websites that discuss miracles. Any message i get about miracles of St. Kirolos or St. Mina and so on... I would delete it without reading it. Recently I have seen people talking about miracles and some other very religious people who prayed a lot but didn't get what they asked for. At the opposite, the good people got very bad and evil things happened to them. I believe it was all about the will of God. I am not asking why because we have to submit to God's will. I just don't believe that the saints really hear us. I used to believe in everything but I changed especially after a recent experience. I spoke with the Father of Confession, and he never gave me a good answer more than "we should focus on the Kingdom of God". He was right.
I am writing this post and I hope that someone proves that yes the prayers of the saints count. Sorry, I know that no one could prove that.
Pray for me,
I am an orthodox.

Hello mtfahmy123,
You know that the saints hear us. It is just that u r in doubt. In ur words I see the fear of God in such I guessed u did not ask this Q out of pride. You want prove.
The problem is the miracle done for other people mean nothing. Even if the whole world tells u how the mother of God intercede for, us u would not be content unless it happens to u.
If u truly seek God certainly u will automatically see that He is not alone but surrounded by His saints. His mother stands at His right hand. His holy angels praise Him daily.
All saints live with God as a family member and God have given them authority to pray for us. The power of their intercession will be proportional with ur faith and love for them.
Actually they pray even for non believers.
If u ask me personally I would doubt my existence than to doubt if they hear me.
They even hear u before u utter ur words. They r so closer to us more than u can imagine. Especially the mother of God, I have no words for her, she is just so humble to hear us sinners. Her intercession is the fastest and the most sure to bring u what u want.
May God be with u to show u how much glory He gave to His beloved.
Even for this u need the saints prayer.
May God be with u with His holiest mother, holy angels, saints. Amen!!!
In the NT the Virgin St Mary interceded when Jesus Christ made the miracle of transforming water into wine:
John 2:2-3 (NKJV)
2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
Other examples:
Mark 13:19-20 (NKJV)
19 For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. 20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
Matthew 22:32 (NKJV)
32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
Revelation 5:8 (NKJV)
8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
etc.
Since the Lord is the God of the living it really does not matter whether these saints are still alive or reposed, waiting in Paradise (e.g., like the thief at the right of the Cross). Since God is eternal, miracles will happen every day.
The miracles made by the Apostles are in fact intercessions because they pray on behalf of others, the Lord listens to their prayers and He does the miracle through them.
