Why did Israel have to fight the Amalekites.. and God not fight the war for them? Have you seen the movie the ten commandmnets? Moses was accusing Joshua of being prideful..

  • Hello mikeforjesus,

I am not sure if I understood ur Q but I will try to respond the way I get it. God fights the enemy through His people. God being their power, courage and wisdom. They lose the fight when they went alone depicting that they are losers without God. They are always winners when they are with God.
This happens always in our Christian fight with the devil. When we are with God we always win the battle. Prayer is crying or pleading for God to be with us. Then we are not alone anymore. The moment we pray we are transformed from a simple earthly person to some spiritual soldier fully armed.
Now this clearly shows that we have nothing to be proud of. Even the power and the wisdom we pray with is God's. The Lord God said Himself, "You can do nothing without me." Now we learn the Truth.
Once I read this statement... "Pride is a false idea but Humility is True". Pride is like putting a crown which does not belong to u, just like the devil does. Humilty is knowing truly ur limits and how much u need God. This is the true knowledge. Pride is illusion.
But God has not left us to our weakness but wants us to start from there and grow up slowly in Him. Infact to be at the top we have to carry the biggest humility. Humility is a great virtue but for the proud it is like death B/c it will take away all His imaginary glories.
I was talking about someone like me in these world but Moses accusing Joshua is a different story I think and I have a very little knowledge to comment on it.

May god be with us always His holiest mother, St. Mary and His holy angels, saints. Amen!!!
