Why do we have the icons on the Iconostasis on this order?
Hi All,
I'm doing some research about the Iconostasis. A question came to my mind: Why do we have the Icons of the Iconostasis in this particular order? Is there any reason why Angel Michael comes after Angle Gabriel? Also what if the saint of the church is Saint Mark? Where do we place his picture & why?

i think i can only answer one of your questions, the one about saint mark
i believe he would be placed either all the way to the left or all the way to the right.
His picture is only placed if the altar is named after him but i dont think it is a rule to have saint Mark on the iconostasis.
Anyone please correct me if i am wrong.
