That really is weird especially because the registration page requires the image verification as well as the email verification. I'm not quite sure how these bots get past both!
But they seem to be flodding a lot of other forums lately. Hopefully there're other means of detecting and blocking them.
Bots can get past the image verifications now. I read a long article on it a while ago.That's why nowadays the captcha images always sort of blend with the background.

Can we do anything to stop bots? We have had about 20,000 new members join in the last couple of months and I would guess 99% were bots.
