Hello,
I had a question. Before anyone goes crazy on me, I'm not trying to start a discussion lol. I'm simply looking to be directed to information if it exists out there. Does anyone know where I might be able to find Orthodox sources (credible, not written by some random person) discussing homosexuality, transsexuality (i.e. sex changes), as well as altering one's body other than for health reasons (for example, removing uterus for women, etc., vasectomy for men, etc.)? More specifically if it discusses what happens if a person does this and if they can be forgiven or not...thanks a lot in advance.
I'll stress it again, I need credible sources please. Thanks a lot.

The pope wrote a book on homosexuality:

I haven't read it, so I don't know how good the translation it is.
Just in case, I want to say:
DON'T DO IT, PLZ. IT'S NOT THE ANSWER :( :( :(
PS: Have you read/seen David Reimer's story?
It's 5 parts:

Thanks for the link. I think I have the PDF file on my computer.
TITL,
Yeah. That's a shame...I was hoping maybe there was...I was hoping for something that was already written lol. I kinda want the information soon. Yes, I actually read parts of the book about his life for my sociology class like four years ago or something...but I want something Orthodox, this is just telling his life story, I want something with more substance that addresses the problem and if the action is done, the consequences and the forgiveness/no forgiveness aspect through the Orthodox church's perspective.
+TheGodChrist+,
Thank you for the links.
Perhaps this would be a good time to clarify my question...I put homosexuality there because it is generally lumped in with transsexuality. Thank you for the information that was posted on homosexuality. However, I'm more interested in information on transsexuality. Thanks.
On transgenderism: http://www.orthodoxchristianity.net/forum/index.php/topic,41475.msg677623.html#msg677623
Thanks TITL, but nowhere in the thread does it provide credible sources...they're discussing a news story. I'm sincerely not interested in what an individual person has to say about the topic. I'm looking for a source that I can trust, for example, Church Fathers, people like Fr. Thomas Hopko, etc.
I'm not aware of any books on sex reassignment therapy from an Orthodox perspective. I believe it's an issue that's dealt with directly with the discernment of a father of confession, and in some cases with a council of priests/bishops and the family - depending on the circumstances.
From my understanding of the issue, transsexualism and transgenderism are both not accepted in any Orthodox church, so sex reassignment would not be permitted. On the other hand, sex reassignment might be permitted, with the discernment mentioned in the above paragraph, in cases of intersexuals.
Dzheremi is credible!! ;D
Along with your shoutbox, a credibility meter would be a nice touch. ;D
Dzheremi = 8.3
He's not baptized yet.

DUDE THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!
Back to the question. HG Bishop Youssef commented on transsexuals here:

Can I be the credibility meter? ;)

Wait a minute. If Dzheremi - 8.3, then Remnkemi = -11.5 at least. Is there a way to write -11.5 to 1000th power? That's probably what the TITL the credibility meter would give me because I keep crashing her parties.

I sense a hint of overconfidence...

Second, it was Jimmy's party you crashed. You can make it up by giving him a metania _/\o
Third, you and ILSM are the same on my meter: 3.4
Anyone else want to be evaluated?

servant33,
Thanks! Now, that's a start...if anyone finds anymore information, that would be great, thanks!
