Essay for Servants Prep Course

Hello Tasbeha Community!

I am, by the grace of God, graduating from the servants prep program at my church this year. Before I do I have to write a fairly large essay. My topic is the election of a new pope.

If you would all be so kind as to help me find books and sources that I can use as an aid to writing this paper. Any and every book you can find.

Well, Christrules, is there anything specific pertaining to the selection process that you were asked to write about?

Off the bat: I don't know if the word election is a good word.

There is no real election. There are nominatins, followed by a selection process. The ultimate choice will be by the Holy Spirit, and there is no election in that aspect of things.

LOL, ChristRules, I was hoping that this would just be something to start off on. There are many sources there, and this may also give you insight as to how the canons can be interpreted. There are differing views on the meaning of the canons, and they are all very interesting. Take a read.

I think you should include the significance of the chants that are done in the Cathedral in reception of the new pope, and those that are done during the consecration.
