Hi, there's a catholic church in the Maadi district. It has a hostel attached with it. But, if u are Coptic Orthodox, Im not sure if they'd accept u.
If u speak French, it could help as its run by the French Catholic Church.
but i am really thankful for your help :)
but i am really thankful for your help :)
Have u ever considered staying in a monastery?? There are loads of them. Just hire a taxi driver for the entire day to drive u around
i want a University Hostel cuz i am going to study in cairo
You mean University accommodation?? You are going to study in Cairo?
Which part of Cairo are you going to??
I know the University of 6th October has some rooms they could rent.
Generally, renting in Egypt is dirt cheap, and if u are a student from overseas, you'll be spoilt rotten.
To stay on campus may not be that appealing, you're going to get 1000's of egyptians coming up to you asking u the following questions:
1) Khallooo how does u does??
followed by
2) I speak London very well... we can speak london together
followed by
3) Do you love Egypt more or America?
followed by
4) What does your father do?
EVERY DAY!!!

Hmm... no - not such a bad experience at all. I loved the people there, especially in SHoubra. They are soo simple, and poor, and really generous and kind.
But, i did find people were nosey.... they'd come up and just ask u personal questions straight away. But being european, im not used to that.
Anyway, for your problem, if you are going to Cairo, and you want nice uni accommodation, perhaps a good place to stay is AuC halls of residence. I know they have Christian socieities etc.
There aren't really "Coptic" dormitories in Cairo for Students. Its all mixed. That's why Im suggesting that you stay in a religious residence if you want to be JUST amongst copts. Or , what about this: Just go to Church every sunday, and try and go to mass every other day?? How does that sound!?
i want a hostel just as good as the hostel which my brother used 2 stay in
it's in el-Zatoon and it's related to Abo Makar monastery
it's in a high accommodation and they offer sigle rooms and the best thing in this hostel
is :there is a church inside it (that means u can attend any prayer at any time) in addition
to that some bishops come and make conferences in it i really like this hostel but there is one
proplem in it :it's for boys >:(
why there isn't such a hostel 4 girls???
my brother told me there's a hostel 4 girls in st mary churh in ziton but they don't offer
single rooms or even double ,they just offer triple and im not used to that so thats why im
asking 4 help i want a hostel just like the hostel of abu maker
but i think i won't find :( [b]i think thats what im going to do :-\
