Question about The Annunciation

So I was reading Luke 1 earlier today, and I was wondering about something related to the annunciation. So from my understanding Satan had some confusion about who Christ was and whether or not He was the true savior (Otherwise he would've made sure Christ wasn't crucified by the Jews). Do we know from any accounts if Satan was around for the annunciation at all? If so wouldn't he have fought harder to stop it?

Side-note:
I have a silly theory that since he had to ask God for permission before he tempted someone (Story of Job) and that he was denied permission to tempt Saint Mary at that time :D
