Is this true?

edited December 1969 in Coptic Orthodox Church
According to my friend, he says that Pope Kyrillos VI allowed the Coptic Catholics to have communion with us. However, when Pope Shenouda III became pope, he said that the catholics can not have communion with us. And that is why many Coptic Catholics loved Pope Kyrilloas VI.

So, is this true?

  • His parents are Catholic, and when they lived in Egypt (during the papacy of Pope Kyrillos VI) they were allowed to partake in the Eucharist in any Orthodox church. Could that be far fetched. Also if you have any links/resources, it would really help.

    Thanks
