Naming of Churches

St. PachomSt. Pachom

Just wondering. can our churches be consecrated in the name of any Saint we have canonized?  ??? for example Abba Kav or St. Pistavros? Thank you. God Bless  8)

    I believe you could consecrate an alter or church on any saint canonized in the synaxarium

    avvakaras aren't all our saints ( with the exception of st. Pope Kyrillos and Archdeacon Habib Girgis) in the Synaxarium? or are there updates that haven't been made yet?

    Not every person considered a saint in the church is mentioned in the synaxarium. While the synaxarium is a book of the stories of the saints, it is not all inclusive.
