"The earliest text of this hymn was found in a Coptic Orthodox Christmas liturgy of the third century. It is written in Greek and dates to approximately 250.[1] It is used in the Coptic liturgy to this day"

    The text is very similar to the spiritual song "in the shadow of your protection"! As for as hymns go, I do not recall any correlation...

    Sounds very similar to the prayers in the Agpeya, particularly the one in the sixth hour.  But I don't know of any hymn with the exact same words.  Perhaps it's somewhere in the list of Theotokias we have.
