The Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch, which is in communion with our church, has an amazing poetic Liturgy. For example, before their epiclesis, the deacon chants that this is an amazing time that the angels behold when the Holy Spirit takes wing and descends. Another example of Syriac poetry is when the priest blesses the people and chants that the invisible hand of Christ is blessing you.
We are supposed to pray for the Syriac patriarch every Liturgy, and they pray for Pope Tawadros every Liturgy. May the unity of the Syriac and Coptic churches forever be a witness of diversity in truth.
