During midnight praises, why do some priests/bishops say "Elison Emas O Theos Pateer" (what the priest supposed to say while opening the veil of the sanctuary) before each hoos?
In older times, each hoos was done at a different time of the praise, which was more of a vigil rather then just the 1-3 hours tasbeha we have one. And each hoos had much more hymns said "on it" (before or after) that use to take more time. In fact, it was probably very similar to what we now do in Kiahk.
That being said, each section of tasbeha was separate that the beginning of service prayer would be said: Ⲉ̀ⲗⲉⲏⲥⲟⲛ ⲏⲙⲁⲥ ⲟ Ⲑⲉⲟⲥ ⲟ Ⲡⲁⲧⲏⲣ ⲟ Ⲡⲁⲛⲧⲟⲕⲣⲁⲧⲱⲣ. Ⲡⲁⲛⲁⲅⲓⲁ Ⲧⲣⲓⲁⲥ ⲉⲗⲉⲏⲥⲟⲛ ⲏⲙⲁⲥ.
