To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Deer of the Dawn.”[a] A Psalm of David.
1 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? 2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. 4 Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. 5 They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.
6 But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people. 7 All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, 8 “He trusted[b] in the LORD, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”
9 But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts. 10 I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God. 11 Be not far from Me, For trouble is near; For there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have surrounded Me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me. 13 They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me. 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death.
16 For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced[c] My hands and My feet; 17 I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. 18 They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.
19 But You, O LORD, do not be far from Me; O My Strength, hasten to help Me! 20 Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog. 21 Save Me from the lion’s mouth And from the horns of the wild oxen!
You have answered Me.
22 I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You. 23 You who fear the LORD, praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel! 24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard.
25 My praise shall be of You in the great assembly; I will pay My vows before those who fear Him. 26 The poor shall eat and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the LORD. Let your heart live forever!
27 All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the LORD, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You.[d] 28 For the kingdom is the LORD’s, And He rules over the nations.
29 All the prosperous of the earth Shall eat and worship; All those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep himself alive.
30 A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation, 31 They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, That He has done this.
but my most fav fav one is Psalm 23 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, [a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
I was looking at this one. It's not really my favorite, but it's really pretty.
[b]Psalm 138
1) I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the Gods I will sing praises to you. 2) I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise your name. For yuor lovingkindness and Your truth; For you have magnified Your word above all your name. 3) In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. 4) All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord. When they hear the words of Your mouth. 5) Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord. For great is the glory of the Lord. 6) Though the Lord is on high, Yet he regards the lowly; But the proud he knows from afar. 7) Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. You will strech out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. 8 ) The Lord will perfect that which oncerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the words of your hands.
Also,
PSALM 8
1) O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth. Who have set Your glory above all heavens. 2) Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants, You have ordained strength, Becuase of your enenmies that you may silence the enemy and the avenger. 3) When I consider Your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have ordained. 4) What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him? 5) For You have made him al ittle lower than the angels and you have crowned him with glory and honor. 6) You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. 7)All sheep and oxen, even the beasts of the field. 8 ) The birds of the air and the fish of the sea that pass thorugh the paths of the seas. 9) O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth.
I had to memorize Psalm 91, it is so cool, I love Psalm 1, I'm trying to memorize Psalm 8, so that one is my favorite, Psalm 13, Psalm 23, Psalm 27, Psalm 29, I just noticed that Psalm 42 is a song, I'm skimming through the Psalms :D, Psalm 46, Psalm 47, PSALM 51, Psalm 135, Psalm 148, Psalm 149, Psalm 150!!!!!!!
i love psalm 119, but more specifically the second part (quoted below) because it is practical and part of the midnight Agpeya prayer and also which used to be the key question Pope Kyrollos used to ask all youth:
9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. 10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. 12 Blessed are You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes. 13 With my lips I have declared All the judgments of Your mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. 16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
