edited December 1969 in Faith Issues
Hy, I do not understand that difficult verse:
"At a lodging place on the way, the LORD met Moses and was about to kill him." Exodus 4,24
Can someone help me with that ?

  • if you read the next 2 verses

"At a lodging place on the way, the LORD met Moses and was about to kill him. 25 But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses' feet with it. Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me, she said. 26 So the LORD let him alone. " Exodus 4: 24-26

According to the promise that Abraham made with God that he and all his descendants would be cirumcised. I think for some reason Moses had not cirumcised his son, and God had warned him and his wife Zipporah, that if he was not circumcised, he would punish him (death). And God had told Moses right before that to go and speak to Pharoah (Exodus 4:21-23), so God chose Moses to lead His people out of bondage, but it did not mean that Moses would be excluded from the law (circumcision), and also how could Moses lead God's people, if he cannot yet lead His own family to follow God's commandments "((for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 1 Timothy 3:5))

  • Princess Mary put that very nicely and i couldn't have said it better my self.
