wrestling with God!

hey guyz whats up?!

i had a question about Genesis 32:24 it says "Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breakin of day." what does restle with him mean? like real wrestling or what? is it suppose to symbolize something?

    Actually, it's literal. Jacob did wrestle with God.

    are you serious?!?! why would he wrestle with him?? and wait a min. does that mean kacob actually saw God like face to face and didn't die?

    He did not see God in His essence, which is not possible for man. But He saw the pre-incarnate Logos in a way that was possible for man to see. Just as Isaiah saw Him in the temple.

    Exactly, i didn't want to say that because i wasn't positive and was going to ask my priest about this subject
