In 1 Kings 2
Adonijah, Joab, and Shimei were killed
Adonijah was killed just for asking for a wife (there might be a reason.. it might be more than that), Joab was killed because he killed two people before and shed innocent blood (Abner and Amasa) , and Shimei was killed because he left his place and went after his slaves.
I want to ask first why did David want Shimei killed (if he did)? did he not forgive him and promise he will not kill him? ofcourse Solomon could kill him without breaking his fathers promise but why did david want him killed if he did.
And why did solomon not kill him at first but chose to make him stay in jerusalem?
Were Adonijah, Joab, and Shimei killed because God had to be just? did they have time to repent? if they repented could God have chosen not to have them killed?
David himself plotted the killing of Uriah and why was he not killed by the sword?
Why did God say an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth in the OT?
In 1 Kings 2:33 it seems Joabs descendents if he had any would be punished because of his sins? is that right?
also in another part of the bible seven sons of saul were hanged.. did not God say the soul who sins will die? if the father sins he will die and if the son sins he will die?

Was it a sin at some time to kill animals even for food if it was not for a sacrifice to the LORD?
Leviticus 17
1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying,
3What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,
4And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
5To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.
