Clearly there is a difference between all three as stated in Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit..." My understanding is that the soul is our instinct, drives, emotions/feelings. The body is obvious, ones physical being The spirit is the relationship between us and God……..this is what differentiates us from animals because they have souls but no spirit
