Abouna's Wife?

Hello,
I came across a story about a priest's wife that was forced to convert to islam. Is this true?
Its probably an old story, but im curious. WHat happened exactly?

    yes its true. but i everything is now back normal.
  • I've never quite understood the point of forced conversions; what sort of faith is it that forces people to say they believe in it?

    It would seem a bad advert for any faith, and I am glad Christians no longer behave in this way. We believe because we know God loves us - and we love Him. It is an act of willing love for us - those who need to use force need also to think about why that might be.

  • ya uhmm from wat i heard here in egypt,nhe story plays out like this:
    abouna was crippled and abused his wife and she worked with a muslim fellow
    who she complained to and he took advantage of that and so on and so forth
    ...then they were involved in the whole legal battle and apparently now from
    what i understand she lives in a seculded room hidden from the public probably
    in the Monastery of St. Bishoy (this is from wat i understand not 100% sure tho)
