In the Greek Septuagint version of the Old Testament, which was the one used by the Holy Apostles, the Church Fathers, and is the version on which the Coptic Bible is based - i.e. it is the Old Testament of the Orthodox Church - this Psalm is number 50.

In the Masoretic Hebrew version used by Jews and Protestants, on which most English Bibles are based, it is numbered 51.

great explanation... but to add on this, the reason why the psalm number is 50 in the septuagint version is because psalm 9 and 10 are combined into one psalm so the numbering is different.

    pray for me,
