Rite of Nun Ordination

Ok so I was reading the Biography of Our Mother Beloved Tamav Erene and in many of the footnotes they'd give us a breif note on the life of the other Mothers that were in her life.

Well in some of the notes, it stated that
many of the ordinations of the nuns were held under the supervision of Hegomens from the Monastery i.e. "Abouna Makar el Makary"

So my question was I thought all ordinations had to be under the hands of a Bishop/Pope not regular priests?

    well i bought the book from my churches library here in the U.S.
    but im pretty sure you can find a couple of sites dedicated to her
