Human Sacrifices

Hello,

Can someone explain this verse for me:

"Consecrate to me every first-born that opens the womb among Israelites, both man and beast, for it belongs to me." Exodus 13:2

Does that mean that God wanted the 1st born to be sacrificed?? (Human Sacrifice) - burnt offering?

What did the LORD want with the 1st born exactly??

    Consecrate to Me every first-born of the children of Israel and in another translation sanctify to Me ...., does not mean offer the first born as a sacrifice or slaughter him. But it means to be separated to God, to serve God.; God wants the best of what we have and  not our leftovers.

    Spirituality the first born in the old testament  refers to Our lord and God Jesus Christ who became the first born and the head of all creation after Adam lost, by his disobedient, the first born status.

    Now in the time of grace all Christian, not just the first born, are asked to “ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1
