  • This is what I get out of it, heres a scenario:

    Devils tempt person A...

    Person A asks for help...

    Devils come disguised as angels to "help" as to make him fall into vain glory. For example they might tell him that they visited him because he is a holy man, and try to strip away his humility by making him feel proud because he is holy and at this point has reached his spiritual pinnacle and doesn't need repentance.

    Sort of how we take credit for overcoming a sin and feel "good" about ourselves, and think we are holy in the eyes of God, when in reality we are at best a filthy rag.
