Hey,
I dunno if this is in the right section or not, but i was wondering if any of you can send me pictures of the Monastery.
My Church is planing a trip there in the Christmas brake and i am going, so i would like to see pictures and hear anything you guys want to say about the Monastery.

I remember someone beofre posted up a link with pictures of the monastery on Facebook, but looking back at the posts, i can't seem to find it.

Thanks in Advance

  • I have been there before. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, to the extent that when it was time to leave (I could only stay a few days), I felt like I couldn't (and didn't want to) go back to my old life (real life). It was a really magical time, you feel like you're in heaven, and you'll have a great time.

Pack a light jacket because it gets chilly at night, but during the day in December it's like 70 degrees, so ya, short sleeves. I regret that I couldn't stay for the Saturday Kiahk Praises, but those who could told me it was amazing.

Basically, during the weekdays, there is Tasbeha at 3 AM and then the Liturgy ends at 8. Usually there is a bit of free time, and you do work during the day (they have a kind of farm with animals). Around 4, they do the agpeya prayers. Usually there will be a spiritual talk at night with one of the monks. Your priest might also hold some workshops and other gatherings during your stay, at his discretion.

Have a wonderful time and pray for me while you're there.
