When we commit a sin and then do something good like donate money to the church, or do something that would please God, does this mean the sin is erased? What should we do if we do not get the chance to confess our sins?

well then GOD will be them judge of that in heaven and according to your heart. as i said before, we just do what the Bible promises us.

Sorry, just had to clarify it's the sacramento of repentance and confession not the other way around. You should first repent of your sin in front of God and only then in front of the priest (confession)...
the first step to confess , is to really repent . then the giudes that the spiritual father tells is the way we go and battle in our way to God, these guides hepl us and make them away from the way of sin but offcourse these things without repent and confess won't erase the sin . Sin only be erased by the Holy Blood of Lord Jesus Christ .
