Examining their love for each other whether its true love or sporadic. Then seek the counsel of an experienced priest that knows the spiritual level of both of the couple and praying a lot about it. I believe that in any decision we make, if its god's will then all the doors will be opened

what ever you do, keep in mind that when you marry someone, you're not only accepting her/him only but also her/his family. Said by HGB Poula in his lecture about "reasons for marriage"
