A guide to understanding the Book of Psalms?

Can anyone recommend such a thing?  I'd prefer literature, but audio would be great as well.

I would look online and see what sources the ACC uses and then see if the complete originals are available, especially on archive.org

You could try 'Christ in the Psalms', which is a book of meditations one for each psalm by Fr Patrick Henry Reardon, an American EO Priest.
