Oops I didn't mean the priests were at fault. But definitely fault of the Coptic vestment industry which has been hijacked by greed in the last 30 years. They just make whatever they want, at minimal cost and then you have no choice but to buy it

Harmala and qosla both mean hood. Some priests in America tried reviving it by wearing it themselves, without realising that it is an episcopal vestment.

Just go to another coptic church. If that doesn't help, maybe a syriac church. If you want more english, maybe an Eastern Orthodox jurisdiction. Whatever makes you comfortable, as long as it is orthodox.

I don't think they necessarily got this from coptic hymns. I mean, to be honest, I have no way of determining the authenticity of this music as having come from pharaonic texts, but it would be really cool if it did.

St. Epiphanius refers to Wisdom in the feminine form in his Fraction on Wisdom. He then says wisdom is our Lord Jesus Christ.

What I meant by chant is to be as equally responsible for chant as men. Or at least be allowed to be able to take full responsibility for chant (depending on the circumstances in the parish). We have marginalised them too much.
