I asked what is the holy synod and I know that they decide to make changes in... hymns for example. Where can I know these changes? I will try to ask abouna to make a deacon's meeting. God bless, Pray for me, Cyril

recently, the synod have been paying attention to hymns and Church rites. that is also because of the increase in the involvement of youth to become deacons and more into hymns and rites. What Anba Rafael does in Egypt encourages all of this. There have been ambiguity in many things (hymns and rites). the Synod tries to solve these and set standards. Generally when that happens, declarations are made and spread as much as possible to other churches in the world. For example: - Saying TEE SHORY in weddings: decided by the Synod on the meeting of May 29, 1999. - Concerning holy week: The entire Creed is said according to the declaration of the holy Synod “not to delete parts of Creed at any time of the year” at its meeting on June 2, 2001. these 2 statements are still challenged by MANY...
[quote author=the_least link=topic=10928.msg133093#msg133093 date=1300233027] so where can we find these changes that happen and have happened? is it published in the keraza? is there a website?
I think people don't follow all of this because no one knows about it.
generally they are published in the Keraza. The main meeting happens around the time of the Pentecost.
[quote author=the_least link=topic=10928.msg133105#msg133105 date=1300248342] why not have a section on tasbeha.org for this... people always come here for hymns anyways so we might as well tell them about the changes
not much have been given. concerning hymns and rite. and if anything major changes, we all find about it from our church priests and who instructed by their bishop.

no....it's simply because there is nothing else to find out about. any direct changes to any rites sayedna, Anba David specifically faxes all of the diocese priests of the changes. i know that well. go ask your church priests to confirm.
